1. INTRODUCTION
The original Environmental Restoration Information System (ERIS) data
dictionary was issued in June 1990. The original document number was
WM-ERIS-90-0015. Since June 1990, the system has seen many revisions,
additions and deletions. Specific interest from the user community has
resulted in the ERIS database engine being used primarily for storage and
retrieval of information in two general categories: environmental chemical
sampling information, and water well information.
This document tabulates the existing tables and columns in these current
systems. Chemical Sampling information includes all results data and
ancillary data needed to determine the accuracy and data quality of the data
contained in the system. Complete data quality information can be found in
IEDMS, a feeder system to the ERIS database. Well-related information
includes all well construction information, all available lithologic and
driller's logs, all geophysical log data that are currently available, and
supporting data.
These systems were in existence in June 1990, and as such many of the
data structures can be found in both the original data dictionary and this
collection of revisions and additions. In all cases, this document supersedes
the original data dictionary, and should be checked before the original
document.
